odd/ conduct disorder | ADHD Information

 We both would probebly would of been dx this as a kid . I just thought Strongwillingness was the thing. This is another one often misdiagnosed when something else is going on and is primarily something a non-MD, non Neuro Psycologist, Therapist or Social Worker will diagnose. ODD doesn't stand alone nor does CD. The same things that are often diagnosed as ADHD are often diagnosed as ODD and CD, especially when the ADHD was not the true core issue (misdiagnosis) and the child was put only on stimulants and is getting worse. It is commonly childhood/teen bipolar misdiagnosed, just like ADHD. At times, it can be autistic spectrum disorder and  a parent not realizing that her child just doesn't "get it" due to a disability, rather than "badness." It's a diagnosis to be leery of, and not very useful, since there is no way to really treat either one. True CD is "antisocial personality disorder" and doesn't go away. If it went away, you had something else. It's a very serious diangnosis, one I'd never accept unless a few MD Psychiatrists and Neuropsych said a child had it. OlderMom38855.5247453704
