How long would it take me to feel "normal" again after taking ritalin for a year with only a month break within the year??(also took adderall within that year very briefly).  I've been feeling tired, moody, and unmotivated.  Will I return to my normal self.  I used to have SO much energy before treatment.  Thanks.IMac38947.4043402778that drug is such crap....whatever you do, don't go back on it, take vitamins, and go natural/herbal, do hope you feel better soon.  Don't listen to people on here...they all seem pro med.....and the stuff will kill ya, i tell ya. Are you feeling this was because you're on a break, or is it that you're back on the med and you're not receiving the benefit that you used to?

The actual medication is flushed out pretty quickly - about 36 hours and no trace is left.

When you take a med holiday typically you coast for the first day and then you feel a bit lethargic and moody.  It quickly passes though.  Take a vitamin C and lots of fluid.  It's about equivalent to stopping coffee when you drink it a lot.  Without the headache.

For me the end of one week and I feel great.  Then I restart my meds and it's like the first day again.
