Wat to go Brandon!  Brandon had karate tonight. At the end of the class the sensi handed out small pieces of paper. Brandon received one. He is to be graded for his green tip belt next week! He has had the orange belt for a long time so I am happy!

My husband teaches Karate to kids so I bet you are very poud of your son because I know just how hard the little ones work to get there belts.

Way to go Brandon

Yeah for Brandon!  Thats just great! Some of those moves are so hard to learn.  That's just wonderful that his Sensi thinks he's ready.  Go Brandon!

i HEAR BEST WAY TO TEACH ATTENTION/DISCIPLINE. MY ONLY THING IS SINCE 12 MONTHS ON GOING BURN OUT CAN HAPPEN. GLAD HE LOVES IT THAT MUCH. MY FRIEND SAYS MADE HER SON'S ANGER WORSE THOUGH. KIDS NEED TO ACT GOOD WITHOUT REWARDS CAUSE LIFE WILL NOT REWARD ALL THE TIME.

i AM GLAD WHEN KIDS DO WELL IN APROGRAM! WAY TO GO BRANDON!

My son takes karate also. He has been going for about a year and a half, and he is almost a blue belt. It does help alot with attention, he is so good there. Wish it would carry over to school as well. Congrats! DonnaMy son has been in Tae Kwon Do for the last 3 years and it's helped him a lot. The key is having a good sen sei who is supportive. There's been times that's he's wanted to quit, but with a little encouragement, he stays with it. He's now 3rd degree red belt (2 under black belt for us). Last Sunday, they had an inner school tournament and my son got 1st place in his division. He was the only kid that new his form cold and could do it without any coaching from the instructor. I was so proud of him I had tears in my eyes.  He got 2nd place in his sparring match;  my kid with ADHD. It was a big self esteem boost for him too. Martial arts are great for these kids. Unlike a team sport, they alone are working towards a goal. Plus it's not a contact sport where they can get hurt if they're not paying attention. My son has also played baseball (definitely not the best one on the team) and liked it, but felt badly if he didn't get a hit. In the tournament, everyone went home with a trophy, so it would have been good for him regardless. Tell Brandon to keep up the good work! Congrats. Oldtimer Brandon goes to class once per week for 10 months. Then he has 2 months off. Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I will have BRandon read them when he comes home from school shortly.Brandon really enjoyed your comments. He wanted me to say thank you for all the kind words. I'll keep you posted on how he's doing in karate!
