Female Dr.s | ADHD Information
I find these to be more open with moms. The trouble a lot like this type dr. more popular. I find easier to talk with also. RNi think that makes sense.
stereotypically (i know one shouldn't but whatever!) a woman is
probably more at pains to listen, to try to hear what you are saying
rather than just forming their own judgement, coming up with their
solution and expecting you to accept it without question.
it's just a difference. being able to listen and understanding
the importance of that is a very female trait, in general. in
every walk of life women tend to talk it through (and yak and yak on
and on if you wan to see it from a more male viewpoint)...
it probably makes them a more pleasant doctor for a woman - as you say
- easier to talk to and possibly a better diagnostician because they
take the time to listen to all the symptoms - but not necessarily.
and it probably doesn't work so well for a man - who might not want to
talk about (or be able to express well enough) his symptoms but just
let the doctor get on with it and expect him to know what to do without
having to yak on about all the symptoms in the first place. cut
to the chase, get the dx, the rx and get out of there!
each to their own.
