I should mention that the focus for my article is not predetermined, and that I'm going to go in whatever direction I feel is most compelling - that's why I'm on a message board like this - to get an argument in favor of the prescription of meds to make life easier for those diagnosed with ADHD.
My mind is absolutely not made up - remember, I'm no expert in the field, just a kid writing her final story for her Newswriting class. My initial focus is based on what my child and adolescent psychology professor taught, but I am very curious to hear the other side. I come in with a very "Correct me if I'm wrong, and there's a good chance I'm wrong" attitude.
Hey guys! I'm writing an article about the misdiagnoses of ADHD in children and young adults, and I was hoping I could get some of your input for my story. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could respond to a couple questions!
First, when were you diagnosed with ADHD?
What symptoms of ADHD were you showing?
What drug(s) were you prescribed?
How do you feel the drugs have affected you - positively or negatively? Tell me about the changes you've noticed.
If you found out that you had been misdiagnosed, how would you react? Would you want to continue taking the medication or stop immediately?
I hope to hear from you all soon! Please include your full name, age, and hometown in your responses.
