Where can you be tested for adhd? | ADHD Information

Just curious, is there a listing of centers around the united states where you can be tested for adhd, or do you have to do it through your primary care physician?When it was suggested to me that I get my daughter tested for ADD, the first thing I did was to check into it through my insurance company.  When I got a list of the proper doctors I began making phone calls.  I asked specific questions about what the doctors specialized in and if they did testing for ADD/ADHD.  Sometimes people are referred by their school if it is a young student, but I chose to be totally in the drivers seat and make all the decisions and choices myself.  I found a doctor that did the testing and after he diagnosed her with ADD, he also referred me to an audiologist to get her hearing checked out too.  All information was forwarded to my primary care physician. 

I may have done it a little different then some but I got the results I was looking for.  Your primary care physician may be able to give you some names of some doctors that specialize in this area, but you can also check with your insurance company if you have coverage for this.   Hope this helps a little.  Just wanted to share with you what I did.  I live in the US.      Please keep posting and let us know how you made out.  Take care.   Dee
