Thanks David. He did give them a run for their money so maybe it didn't work properly.
No, there shouldn't be.
RitSR is out of the body after about 10 - 12 hours or so.
What affects medicinal uptake, and hence dose response, is the condition of the stomach at time of dose.
Oral meds are designed to be absorbed under normal intestinal conditions.
Alterations of the stomach's environment with acids (such as in citrus fruits) or neutralizers (such as antacids) may alter the uptake characteristics of the target med, either inactivating them, or possibly enhancing them. Or nothing, also.
My son had a rough day at school today. He takes RitalinSR. I gave him an orange this morning. I understand that citrus fruit can react badly with medication. He said that he had a sore stomsch in the afternoon. Does anyone know if there can be a delayed reaction?Does he get a "sore stomach" often? I have a relative who's son has anxiety problems and that sore stomach often appears after a bad day at school, in the morning before school, or at school when he's faced with a speaking situation or feels singled-out in some way. Hope he feels better! No it doesn't. He used to get a sore stomach with Dexedrine all the time. He doesn't with the ritalin. He does feel better thank you.
