Allergies and ADHD? | ADHD Information
I had asthma as a kid, but not a problem now. allergic to mold, grass, trees, dust, cats and horses. Sounds like I'm allergic to the country.
Although the stats on the poll makes it appear there may be a connection, It's hard to get a true picture since this is an ADHD board. Perhaps it is just that allergies are common to all?
Allergic to lots of things. Cats, purfumes, deodorants, soap, shampoo and conditioners, grass, shaving cream, all dairy foods, prawns, make up to name quite a few. Also get hayfever and have eczema too
Oh, don't forgat oranges and SUGAR
I have never had allergies, so in my case I don't see a connection. This past week has been the worst of my life for allergies.
Sneezing, watery eyes, goo dripping from my nose. I am developing bronchitis too I think.
I have had sinus problems almost constantly since I was a child. My ADHD daughter does, also. Dust, pollen, and cigarette smoke seem to bother us the most. I have asthma and terrible allergies. I dont know if it is
connected to my ADD though. I know I live in Chattanooga, TN
which is famous being terrible for people with allergies. When I
lived in Colorado I had no where near this kind of trouble with
allergies.
Hi Countrygirl,
Interestingly enough, I have no allergies besides a sneeze here and there to weeds and dust. Most people I know do have some kind of allergy, but I guess I just got lucky so far. My daughter and husband don't have any either, at least not yet.
Think Texas is bad for allergies. seems most people around me sneeze and rub their eyes. Maybe that's because most of them are related?
When I was a kid, my dad called me "Sniffles". I got tested for allergies
about a year ago. I'm allergic. to everything!I wondered about that too. My niece, who is 4 years old and is "just like" me, according to my sister and parents, displays lots of ADD traits and has a constantly runny nose. I was also a very snotty child. I used to sneeze every morning, producing lots of snot. I was known for it.
Snot. My claim to fame.
Do allergies and ADHD have a connection? Does everyone on this planet have allergies? Is it a coincedence that almost everyone I know that has AD/HD seem to have allergies or is this all in my head?
