Heidi
er IS GREAT CAUSE IT WORKS THRU OUT THE DAY. DANIEL'S DEPAKOTE IS 500 MG. tHIS TYPE GIVES IT IN THE BODY AS NEEDED.HE ONLY HAS TO HAVE 1 A DAY. IT LASTS 12 HRS.
I SUGGEST 12 HR. CAUSE THIS WOULD ALLOW FOR SCHOOL/HOMEWORK TIME.
oldtimer38901.4336458333My daughter is also on medatdate cd 10 mgs. She has been on this drug for 4 weeks and so far so good, we have noticed a difference in her. Her attention has greatly improved. She still occassionaly complains that her stomach hurts but not so frequently. I have noticed that her afternoon appetite is not the same, the contents of her lunch box is hardly touched so I make sure that she has something healthy when she gets home.
Hope that you too have good luck with the metadate.
i think it's a generic form of ritalin. but don't quote me on that. email the company that makes it and ask them. tell them why you are asking, they might send you some coupons for a month or so free to give your friend.
i spell checked!
Ritalin, Metadate and Concerta are the same drug and the generic name for all 3 is methylphenidate.
The difference between all 3 is explained below. Oh, I spell checked too! lol

This is probably a little late.. But figured I would post anyway..... I am on Medidat eCD 30 MG 1-2 times per day my son (6 years old) has been on Medidate CD (30 Mg 1-2 times per day) for 4 months and my younger brother (29 years old) has been on Medidate CD (30 Mg 2x a day) for over a year. We all have had great results - the only issue - with my son is his appetite has decreased - To help combat this we have done a few things - the first is to offer him many different healthy foods - seems with the variety he is more likely to eat than if we offer him the same thing day after day - The second thing is to make his food fun - themed foods - Boat sandwiches & things like that - We have also institued a three bite rule (the teachers we great about helping with this - He knew that even if he was not hungry he had to take 3 bites of each lunch item (at his school the hot lunches had 5 items per day - so at least I knew he was getting some food down. Our psychologist also recommended Ensure Shakes (we use the ensure plus - and chocolate ice cream - He loves this & has one every day) Hope this helps
