Adderall Dosage Change and Insurance | ADHD Information

Share
Ok so. I've been on adderall xr 20 for about 5 months and recently wanted to up my dosage because by lunchtime i'm totally worn out. my doctor thought it would be better to take one 10 mg in the morning and one at lunch. This is horrible. i don't feel a thing. I feel like i am taking nothing at all. but i just got them filled about 2 weeks ago. i was wondering if i went back to the doctor and got a prescription for a higher dose, if the insurance would cover it. i know that they only cover 30 pills a month but if the dr writes the prescription,i dont' see why the insurance has authority to say whether or not i can get them. I don't know if they would make me wait a month because i just got the 60 10mg filled? Please help...i don't know what to do. do what the doctor has told you to do... your insurance has authority because they are the ones paying for the drug, plus the insurance stuff comes up on the phamasts. computer. however im sure u could pay cash IF you doc switches ur dosage... but he has reasons for prescribing what he is prescribingThe pharmacist needs to call the insurance and tell them it is a dosage change.  You dont have a new prescription yet though.  Seems like you are jumping the gun a little.
