Another Concerta Question | ADHD Information

Stimulants can actually cause some aggression and defiant type behaviors in some people. Sometimes just a general medication change will fix the problem. You might want to discuss this with your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Maybe a little med holiday would give you the answer to if this is caused from the meds, or if it's a new behavior. Talk to your doctor first though.

 

 

My son is on 54mg of Concerta..His dose was raised this year in Sept..well.. I am not sure if it is the medicine or maybe a ODD coming on.. but he is so defiant.. he is swearing in school. he isnt swearing at people.. but swearing in frustration.. he lies.. he has done that since he was little though.. does an ODD just come out like this? could it be the Concerta? he seems so angry all the time.. he talks back to adults..He has ADHD.. but he was always a pretty good kid.. besides the getting into everything hyperactivity and poor concentration.. but never mean.. never so defiant or swearing.. talking back to adults like this.. just wondering if anyone has had this problem

i have a 12 yr old that has odd and she is also on concerta 36mg, she had the odd before she went on this med, i have read some where that kids that have adhd also get odd, ur son sounds alot like my daughter, she is very defiant and likes to lie. good luck with ur son
