SCHOOL JUST CALLED AND TOLD ME TO PICK HER UP BECAUSE SHE JUST ATE SOMEONE ELSE CANDY AND THE OTHER CHILD IS CRYING.. I TOLD THEM I'M NOT PICKING HER UP..
ALSO SHE HAS A 504PLAN IN PLACE SINCE MAY 0906 AND THE TEAHCERS SAID THEY NEVER GOT IT... WHAT CAN I DO?
Call the special Ed office and find out. If the plan has been in place only since last month, it's possible that it doesn't start until the new school year.For taking candy that is silly to have to pick her up. I think for punishment is your child if she has a piggy bank she use her money to replace the childs candy next school day and have make an apology card saying she is sorry. Exactly! this is crazy....I wonder if the roles were reversed if the other parent would have been called to pickk up their child
I agree totally with the two above posts. Having her replace the other child's candy and apologizing would be a much better consequence than having her come home. I would think that having the parent pick her up from school would just be rewarding her behavior. It sounds as if the school is just not wanting to deal with the situation!I agree with you Boston. Having her apologize and replace the candy would be a better thing to do. Also, I agree with nekochan--call the special ed office or the principal to get the 504 plan implemented.
