hun they said htis is a pregram gor children that are behind in school And i have tried to stess this and i faxed a letter today and it go ther real mad cause she said she cant accomadate one child in the program i said that is fine she said well i will get a back with you .. She seems mad that ia m standing up for what is best for my son .. and she isnt even though that is what she is supposed to doo And as far as disipline he has got in one fight and a few monor problems .. she said this has nothing to do with discipline this is cause he is three years behind .. they have started a new program for next school year .. and i didnt have a problem till they wanted ot place him where it could cause him trouble

It sounds like they are placing him in an offsite special education classroom. Is that classromm for learning disabled children or for emotionally disturbed children?

What is his discipline record at school? How many suspensions since 7th grade, and for what?

Does he have an IEP? If so, what is the category? OHI or ED?

first, i highlighted the parts in RED because those are valid reasons for the school and the social worker to be 100% aware of.  Putting him in an environment that is interacting with people with special needs is not a healthy way for him to attempt to grow and catch up.  tell that lady, very abruptly, that YOU will not allow her to put him in an environment where any one, including your son will be in harms way.  I'm not saying that he will go postal or any thing, i am just saying that she needs to realize that YOU are his mother and YOU have the final say.  I have to ask this, why is there a social worker involved in the decision making process.  did some thing lead up to that?  You are 100% right.

could you try to tell them that you want in writing that you warned them it could lead to problems and you are denying any responsibilty if anything happens

then add that if anything happen to your son or anybodyelse, any lawsuit will be directed to them not you .

that should get them moving

if you have to write the letter yourself and go to her office and stay until she signs(bring your son).

I had  a problem with the council and i threaten to camp in her office with my 4 year old ADHD,i got it sorted straight away.

he wont do his work . He says he ask for help and is told to go sit down .. so then he just goes and reads a book ..So i dont  know .. I know he will fail school but passes crct which is based on whole school year .. i know used to if you passed crct tjhen you passed but no tknow so i dont know what the test is for .. lol i put it in a feax that is when she really got mad .. i am just callingt he school and tell them leave him in 7th grade.. ive had it my limit .. i aint being treated like this by this woman .. Are there any attourneys in your area you can contact?  I would get legal advice and have the district pay for the service.  I heard if you win your case the district will have to pay the legal fees but only if you win.  Good luck.Has he ever been diagnosed to find out why he's so far behind? That's quite a few years back. Has he been tested for LD's by a NeuroPsych? That could help a lot. If he has specific reasons, holdilng him back won't help nor will special classes unless the problem is addressed. Hi i have a adhd child an now the school is tryin to place him in a prgram that could get him into alot of trouble . and i am not aggreeing and it is causing alot of problems . I dont know what to do .. Nor why they are doing this .. They want to put my son in a special program for kids that are behind but he wil have to do communty service at day care or a home for elderly and he doesnt do well in them setting .. and they dont seem tto undertsand this  the school social worker is giving me a hard time .. I spoke with special ed director today and she said my son doesnt need to be in the situation .. so i called the social worker and she said she cant accomadate just one child .. so i put it all in writing and faxed to special ed director.. The school socail worker then called me letting me know she had the fax.. I dont understand why she is being so rude to me .. Please help .. Ok, first of all who diagnosed your son and do you feel they accurately diagnosed him? Important: How old is he and what are his school problems? What sort of behaviors/learning problems make them feel he needs seperate placement? Who is this social worker? From the school? Have you thought about getting an Advocate (they are free) to help you with school issues? Has he ever had an outside evaluation? Is your son sensitive to stimuli and sensory stuff? Any delays? Hehe. Next I'll be asking for your social security number. Just kidding. I'm trying to figure out what you mean, what is or isn't wrong with your son, and where to direct you for help. THere certainly ARE t hings you can do to fight the school, but you may need an outsiders diagnosis, and an Advocates help. It is sadly common that school personel are rude to "unarmed" parents. That's why I never go to any meeting without an Advocate. Please tell more so we can help and see the big picture. OlderMom38883.8367476852
