children and St. Johns Wort

Has anyone tried St. Johns Wort for anxiety with their children?

I have not try it, but I'm about to. This ADHD is driving me crazy. My son is taking Ritalin 20 mg. I started without the doctor advise a Liquid Vitamin that it is sold over the counter. It has Glutamic Acid, Calcium & B-complex. I read something about  the vitamin B And ADHD, I don't remeber right now. But it is supposed to be good. And the Glutamic Acid is supposed to be good for the memory , too.  If this doesn't work, I may try other things. I even read something about a : lab test to determinate which neurotrasmitters are in short supply. Also, that thyroid problems may be the factor into some adhd.

Consult your doctor is the best advise after all.

My son has ADHD.... six months ago, I placed him on Attend see www.vaxa.com.(please go to the website... it was recently listed on the Feingold program).... and it is all natural.... What a major difference in his behavior. I have yet to receive a phone call from school.....THIS REALLY WORKS.

If you want to add vitamins to your childrens diet make sure you check with your doctor for the best time to give them.

I don't know how other drugs are but I've learned that you can't take Adderall at the same time as a lot of vitamins because amphetamines either don't absorb the vitamin or the vitamin winds up wiping out something like 90% of the medicine depending on what the supplement is.

I found this out the hard way and wasted a lot of vitamins and medicine before my doc told me. Just a heads up so you don't wind up doing the same thing I did.

Hi,

I just got home from a school conference and do not know what to think. My son is an excellant student good grades, loveable child, polite ect.....But, his teacher seems to think he should be tested for adhd. Which I will do. He is very hyper to where I feel like I am constantly yelling at him to calm down. I am going to go to the website that I think taximom posted and check it out. But, how do you really know if its adhd? I do not wany my child on medication. ANy insight would help thank you all.
