I think everyone feel this way although maybe ADHD makes one more aware of the sensation. My Mom is not ADHD but when the barometric pressure changes she has a horrible time breathing and is always dizzy. I think everyone feels this to one degree or another.
If you ever have gone up high into the mountains you get this light and airy feeling even though you may feel short of breath due to the thin air but there is this elation one feels. Mountain air is always low barometric pressure. Then when you come down you feel there are weight in your shoes....like gravity is holding your feet down and something is pushing on your head.

I've heard of that SAD before. Hope the meds help you out Topaz I actually get depressed if I am without sunlight for too long. I also lots of times get headaches because of the change in the barometric pressure. I think the ADD makes me even more sensitive then maybe some other people. This week it has been very overcast where I live and I felt really down on Monday. The sun finally crept out from behind the clouds in the early evening and I went for a run. Boy did that make a difference. The light and the excersize was a great combination. Even if I can't get sunlight, a little excersize gets those andorphines cooking and it seems to help me feel better. I sure do hate gray days. I've got a rainy week to get through, so I guess I'll be doing a lot of excersizing.
lostmyshoe38895.8438425926I know that I feel more fatigued on rainy days, and I don't think that my meds work as well. I have more difficulty thinking on these days.
I've heard of that SAD before. Hope the meds help you out Topaz
Why thank you!
Well, I think of it as pressure. From all around. Maybe being ADHD makes us more sensitive? I know people with Lupus or rheumatoid arthritis really react to the barometric pressure changes. Maybe those with sensory issues might too? Sometimes I feel heavier and weighted down, sluggish, not quite with it. Is that how you feel too? I'm sure different people react differently, and not at all to it. Like the pull of the moon to, but that's another story!
We are having storms here tonight, and just feel yuky tonight. Yep, that's exactly it. Strange isn't it I feel the same way on a rainy day. I never considered that it might be related to ADHD until you mentioned it. Interesting....
I also get seasonal affective disorder (SAD) in the winter, I live pretty far north and the lack of daylight really gets me depressed. My doc said that the ADHD meds might help with this, so I'm looking forward to finding out.
Do you think the weather can effect ADHD?
When it's really overcast and dark for a couple of days I start feeling fuzzy headed and start to feel low. I love the rain and the wind and that but the lack of sunlight seems to effect me.
Is that weird?
Does it make it feel like there is something pushing down on your head?It might have something to do with the barometric pressure. It is known for its effects on the living.
