My 7 yr old was recently diagnoised with Aspergers Symdrome and was previously dianoised with ADHD about 4 months ago. I have been researching and trying to find information on Aspergers and from what I have read, alot of people talk about the change in diet yet I cannot find specifics on the diet. Can anyone out there please help me?
Thanks so much,
Tonia
I'm not sure what the post means, oldtimer :) Do you mean interventions don't work? If so, that's not true. I recommend reading the ASD site. I think it's the one universal thing we all agree is that school/community interventions are mandatory for ASD kids. Without them, nothing else works either. MomWI38901.6887847222DIET IS AVOIDEING ALLERGIE FOODS. CONNECT WITH KIDS IS SAYEING CHANGES IN PLACENTA CAN BE THE CAUSE FOR THE ASD. THIS HAPPENED IN DANIEL'S MOMS PREGNANCEY. THERAPIES WORK FORE MOST. iN SOME CASES THERAPIES WORK VERY LITTLE. i MET A FAMILY 10 YRS THERAPY MADE NO HELP. tHE CHILD'S CASE WAS BRAIN DAMAGE. iT IS TAKEING SEEING A SPANISH NEUROLOGIST TO TAKE SOMETHING TO GROW NEW NEURONS FIRST.I have a suggestion. I have a Spectrum kid. I think you'd get better advice on the PDD/Autism board. It's just like this one, but the parents are very much aware of Aspergers. Here, a lot of parents really don't know that much about it. I don't use any diet so I can't answer you. except to say that, imo, school and community interventions are the key for the highest function possible as an adult. Here's the link. A lot of people there have used the diet or are using it with various results.

The kid I was telling you about therapies made no difference for him in 10yrs. The spanish neurologist says therapies don't grow new neurons. This kid had chealation first. He is improveing with takeing stuff to regrow new neurons. His case was brain damage he got from mom doing redation during her pregnancey. He can help if the neurons are only damaged not destroyed. This boy has had regular EEG's.Thanks so much for the suggestions...I will check out the Pdd/Autism Boards and see if I can find more on there.
I have made an appointment with the school to have a meeting with his teacher for next yr as well as the social worker who will be working with him, so that we can discuss a plan for next yr.
Again, thanks everyone for your suggestions:)
