congenital heart disease and ADHD | ADHD Information

1/3 to 1/2 of kids with complex congenital heart disease have ADHD, which is 2-3 times higher than the general population. I know very few of you on this board have this combination, but in case you do, this is very interesting (and depressing).

Congenital heart defects are defects you are born with. Could you please reference what you have read that indicated that meds can cause you to be born with a heart defect?

One of my dearest friends had heart surgery as an infant 50 years ago when they were just starting to try to correct atrial septal defects with surgery. At that time they were not sure if she would live through puberty, but she did.
