Concerta - is there a generic? | ADHD Information

Contact your insurance company and see if they have a prescription by mail program. If so you MAY be able to send them a 3 month prescription which they will fill for ONE COPAY.

GIve it a shot!

Joemom is right, there isn't a generic form. There is Ritalin in generic, which is what concerta is made from, but it's not extended release like the Concerta is. There may be some other extended release generics though, I'm not sure on that one. Ask his doctor about it. Sometimes doctors get coupons for money off the medication, or for free medications, and will be kind enough to give them to people that are struggling with the cost. There is a Nation wide study going on with Concerta right now.  I signed up for it and now get meds free for one year - check on it under clinical trials.  If you do an internet search you can probably find it.  It is a study being done by the drug company to meet some committment by NIMH or something like that.

My husband takes 54 mg of Concerta for ADHD.  We pay a copay of for each prescription and I'm wondering if there is a generic equivalent?  If we use a generic our copay is much more manageable.

Thanks for any information you may have to offer.

No I dont think there is a generic to concerta.
