Daytrana | ADHD Information

My child has just began to use the new Daytrana patch.  In the past methylphenadate has not been successful, but this patch seems to be working.  Anyone else trying it yet?  My child is extremely impulsive as well as highly distracted. 

Also, thoughts on eating with the patch?  My child is having troubles eating the evening meal after dosage all day.

Appreciate any thoughts.
Sleep seems to be fine.  My child slept the normal 10 hours again last night.  The patch is removed 3 hours before bedtime, because medication continues to be delivered for 12 hours.

Its interesting to me how children know when something helps them feel better.  This child really wants the patch every morning where when the meds do not work, the kid resists.

I have another child on Focalin and that works for him. 

With every stimulant, it seems hardest for mine to adjust their eating to sufficient amounts.

Glad to hear someone has tried it, I want to talk to my son's dr. about it. He ws on Focalin XR but had major difficulities sleeping.

How does the Daytrana effect your child's sleep?

Thanks for your response. My son really has great diffuculties w/ focus and attending, he has PDD, not ADHD, but the dr's do put kids on stimulants to help them. My son could really benefit from one if we can find one that works well without major side effects.
