adderall and acne? | ADHD Information

Ive been taking adderall for 2 years now.  but the last 4-5 months ive noticed my face and neck have been breaking out severly. Ive been reading some things online and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem...Thanks by the way im only 26 and my skin hasnt been bad since high school.  i take adderall 20 mg 3 times a day, and also over 1 year lost 85 pounds! anyone else had major weight loss?Yes!I have been taking Adderall XR for about 3 months and I have noticed a tremndous increase in acne. Did you read that acne was a side effect? I am using more zit cream now than I have in 20 years. It is sooo frustrating. Wander if anyone out there has found they like Concerta better and no acne came with it? Let me know how you turn out! Oh, yes, I  have lost about seven ponds but then I am 5'6" and didn't weigh but 125 to start with. I am almost 40 with 3 children-9,8, and 3. This acne thing is the pits.I take concerta and it did not cause me to break out!!

Adult onset acne hits about 10 percent of the population and is aggravated by sweating during hot summer days like most of us have experienced.  I wouldn't automatically blame the meds as breaking out typically only happens with amphetamine abuse (like meth heads get). 

There are topical treatments for adult acne - check with your doctor as they have some very good help.  Proactiv cream as advertised on TV seems to be very effective.

I have been back on adderall since tuesday and already I have 3 zits popping up. What a bummer!i have been getting acne on my nose since i started adderall. and acne on my legs since this heat wave!!
