http://www.adhdnews.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19898& KW=ogramWell day two, the end of day one he has 11 in and 2 out (he pushed his siblings twice yesterday) but that is it. He also went right to bed! How exciting. I know there are hard times to come I am sure but he loves this! I let him pick them out and he loves all the colors.trevors_mom,
Bedtime used to be awful around here. My challenging child now goes to her room at bedtime and does not come out . I no longer have to feed the children's birds, their bathrooms have stayed clean, our living room has stayed picked up, my outdoor plants are watered. This was without optimized medication for our ADHD child. On Sunday, my youngest (ADHD child) had her Concerta increased and has started reading every day. Last night she read for 2 hours because she could not fall asleep. This child always hated to read (dyslexia makes reading very hard for her). We are going to the library tonight
.
I started the marble program with my son today too! I love the idea! It started out to be a good day, and my son was very excited as well, but we had a meltdown earlier with homework, so we're not really on the positive side right now
. I think the key is consistency, and this will help me be consistent, and I think once he sees positive results and rewards, it will be a great program.
Good luck with this. My kids are doing very well with the marbles. It keeps my husband and I more consistant
. My youngest, who has ADHD, had a few days of getting angry at losing marbles for negative behaviors and refused to participate in anything having to do with the marbles. I emphasized the positive things that got her marbles very easily and she went back on track. I had been warned earlier (related to a school behavior plan) that she might rebel when she was held responsible for her actions, so was ready for it and did not give up.
