No, was told def not ASD. Verbal, ok to touch, socially ok, though can get annoyed with peers after a while of playing.
Anyone familiar with Sensory issues on the board?
Sensory issues often go along w/ other diagnoses (though can certainly stand on it's own)..... Our son (who is 4) has ADHD and has his own set of sensory issues. There are many things you can do.... good luck in pursuing a diagnosis!I guess your next step should be a referal to a specialist psychologist for screening. Our Devel Ped advised us our 4 yo daughter is at risk for ADD/ hd. She is in OT, also PT but we do not know how to proceed with her.
I really worry as she cannot pay attention to anything for very long. Gets distracted by other things going on and just moves to it and so on and so on. It's been metnioned due to her poor motor that the problem is Sensory difficulties but is the treatment the same ? different and if so what should or how can we help her to concentrate on a game or a ball or a topic at school?
OT and PT is usually part of ASD. Are you sure she didn't say ASD rather than ADHD? Either way, you have it or you don't by age 4. Both disorders cause poor attention. If she has ADHD meds should help her poor attention. If she has ASD, you need other interventions and meds may not help much at all. Does she speak well? Socialize well? Like to be touched? What are her behaviors like?
