What are the cut off scores, I gave the test and so did my dh and we both got
No PDD...just want to see what the scale is and where we fall
My childs psychologist met with me and went through the criteria together and he explained things as we went and he does not feel she has it however she is being further screened for Anxiety and OCD which do make sense. I posted it in another post.Thank you for the info MomWI, I will have a talk with my son's Dr about this and see if she can refer a good NP for my son to see that knows how to test for PDD.
Can you tell me some of the tests they do.
Thanks again.
It's good to see this thread because as my husband and I have done more research, we've started wondering if our boy has very mild asperger's and as I've read some of the symptoms of your children, it has sounded a lot like asperger's to me, not adhd. Hopefully, it will give some answers like it has for us. We've always assumed he had adhd and his counselor unofficially diagnosed him with it, but some of his behaviors/symptoms just didn't fit. We took this questionaire a couple of weeks ago, and it was very helpful. He scored 55 so he is very mild, but it helps to be able to put a name to some of his symptoms. In a word, NP's test everything from IQ, to sequencing, to eye contact and demeanor, to reading, math, speech, speech pragmatics, spatial orientation, ADHD testing (on computer) and too much to name. My son was tested for 12 hours in 2 hour increments. That beat the heck out of just talking to us and him and making snap assumptions with no facts to back it up. The proof is in the performance. He took eons before he'd come to a diagnosis. He didn't want to jump the gun. bumpBumped for KikisMom.Daniel also. I plan to let the Np know this also that he scored high on this. I would rule this out before trying medacine. The best help for this is therapies.
If you can't afford a Np demand the school pay for this.
I just did it for my child and it showed a score of 88 for mild. Wow I called her psychologist this week to inquire about screening for this. She starts the research study late August but I do not wish to wait.
Thanks my husband was asking yesterday if there was a website to get an idea.
Jillette38910.607650463This is an assessment test. Those on the PDD/Autism/Aspergers board feel it is pretty accurate. It pinpointed MY son's ultimate dx. too.

MomWI38910.5207523148My husband and I did it again and scored higher 138 for moderate. Yes I printed this as well and plan to definetly call her psychologist.Trevor scored a 144 for moderate. I printed it and will take it to the DR with me..IMac38944.572337963What is pdd? my son scored a 117.Is this something I should be wooried about. He has ADHD & ODD he is on meds for it.Autism/Aspergers (PDD) Pervasive Development Disorder. If he scored that high, yes, you should have a NeuroPsych test him. Usually these kids are diagnosed with ADHD because nobody knew about higher functioning autism until roughly ten years ago, and many professionals dont' know about it even now. It requires different treatment than ADHD, and Psycologists, therapists, even some Psychiatrists don't know how to test for it. PDD actually means Autistic Spectrum Disorder. bump
Psycologists are pretty bad about catching PDD's. We had quite a few tell us Lucas didn't have it. You really need the testing, and a NeuroPsych does it. Without testing for tendancies, there is no way your Psycologist knows. You'd be amazed how many of them think autism means Rainman or the child can't speak or is mentally deficient. You need someone who is very familiar with high functioning ASD or it's easy to miss until they get older, and sometimes then it can spiral out of hand or be too late. The test tends to be fairly accurate. You may want to post on the PDD board for suggestions, feedback, and ask them if a psycologist is good enough a diagnostitian for ASD. You'll probably get told "no." Most of our kids were "missed" for a long time. Your child sounds a lot like the ones on the PDD board. Good luck.
No about getting the Np paid for by your district. Our psychologist is seeing that this is happening here. Put it in writing. He said you can have this done by the se dept. Anthing we can't afford we ask for and we usually get it. I did call my childs psychologist and spoke to him and he did not seem so sure but will talk to me tommorow in his office and will screen her afterwards in 2 visits. I am nervous and hope I am not jumping the gun so to speak but most of the items on the online test sound just like her.
