I think only another health care professional would be able to comment on a misdiagnosis, but I will say that my dd has gone through several medications and Adderall XR was a horrible medication for her. We have been through a total of six different medications now before finding one that really works -- for her. Good luck.
I know this won't be much help but some people have Anxiety and ADHD. Also, I think adderall is an all or nothing type med. Some people do excellent with this drug and others do terrible. Go back to the doc and talk about your concerns.Who diagnosed you? The best diagnostitian is a Psychiatrist (with the MD). Even they make mistakes. Lots of stuff mimicks ADHD, including bipolar disorder. I don't know anything about adderall, I take concerta. I do know some people who have adhd can also have anxiety - maybe both need to be treated.I recently started the adderall xr and it has been disastrous. Everthink think that you may be misdiagnosed and that it may be an anxiety disorder? I just thought that Add or Adhd people would do so great on Adderall-it was the miracle drug. I just have so much anxiety that goes along with it .....My daughter has ADHD with ODD, learning disorder, anxiety and depresion mixed in. She is doing well on Concerta. We watched carefully in case the med made the anxiety or depresion worse. Please call your doctor to discuss. You may just need to try a different med. If you are seeing a GP, please consider a psychiatrist.
