Ritalin and other med interactions? | ADHD Information

Share
Well, I just checked with my Dr. and pharmacist, and both said it was OK to take them all...so I guess I'll take their word for it. Still seems a bit weird to me, but whatever works - as I can't really cut any of the others out.

One other question - what is a normal schedule for adults (not in school) to take Ritalin with a twice/daily prescription? Is 4-5 hours inbetween enough/too much? Thanks again.
Thanks for the help

I think that's where I'll go tomorrow. Although all of these Dr.'s know about each other's prescriptions, something just doesn't seem right. So far I feel ok, but that's not always good enough. If I find out anything, I'll post it back up here for anyone else on this combination (If I'm not alone)...

Oh, my!  I think I would sit down & have a serious conversation with my pharmacist & go from there.  I do not know any answers to your questions, but that is where I would start.

Good luck!

I'm 25 and was just (yesterday) prescribed 5-10mg of Ritalin. I'm already taking a ton of other medicine, and although nothing was flagged at the pharmacy, I am still a bit worried about taking all of these together as I have 4 dr.'s honing in on specific problems...

I'm currently taking: Ritalin (10mg/twice daily) for ADD, Paxil CR for depression, Ambien for sleep.

Plus, Crestor for (extremely) high cholesterol, Glugophage and Actos for diabetes. Plus Darvocet N100 and Soma for bad muscle pains caused by an inflamatory disease.

All in all, there are lots of pills a day. I think my main concern would be with possibly the Ritalin which is a stimulant, and the pain meds - darvocet and soma (a muscle relaxer). It just seems that these 3 are kind of opposites. Does anyone know if this is dangerous?

Also, my Ritalin prescription says 2 tablets twice daily. But, what's the average time this will last, and what is the average "twice daily" in-between time? 4-5 hours inbetween each dose?

Sorry for all the questions, this is my first visit to the forum. Thanks to anyone who can help, and good luck with everyone else - lots of good info on here.
