best time of day. | ADHD Information
I find that weird that your son is calm in the morning. Most children on adhd meds are really hyper in the morning. Maybe it is because wellburtrin stays in their system. Maybe the meds are actually working more then you think if he is calm in the morning. I think you could ask most parents on here and the roughest part of the day is the morning.I think it is weird too. I think he is calm in the morning this summer because there is less stimulation in the morning. My husband and dtr both sleep late, and he and I are the only ones up. During the school year, mornings suck. He doesn't listen, and it takes forever to get him ready. My son is 8, and we took him take off Focalin on a regular basis because it was zombieing him. We still have some to use for occassions where he has to be calm, like a wedding. Now he is only on Wellbutrin, which so far seems to do nothing. It takes up to 8 weeks to build up. I am curious. My son is happy, but kinda calm in the morning, and seems to get more hyper as the day goes on. It could be because there is less stimulation at my house in the morning. I am just curious. He takes the wellbutrin in the eveningWellbutrin should stay in his system, but maybe it hasn't built to a therapeutic level yet? It takes 6-8 weeks. It can also be highly stimulating for some people. My hub took it to try to quit smoking (it is also Zyban--same thing) and he stopped taking it because he fetl "jumpy" on it and he's a pretty calm person. My son is always jumpy, but atleast now he is happy. The Focalin was causing him to be extra sensitive, but did calm him down. I forgot how hyper he is.
