Pay attention to what fda says. The problem here is them oking them and later disapproving them cause of side effects. This happens with all kinds of druges all the time. The real issue is we all respond differently. The same applyes with educating kids. Quit trying to fit people into a system that's not for them. A person should get a system that will work for them best. The truth is all we here is lack of money. Not our problem. Redirect the money into education and not the extra stuff. Just our opinion. oldtimer, what meds are you one?I take thyroid medacine and vitamins. I took adhd med as a kid. Not today. I just feel a person should be educated in a way that works best for them. Not the other way around. You can keep trying to force a system that doesn't match but it will not help at all. I learned the most from private not public. Back then though Se was way different. I was told by our Se director also that in the near future only severe disability person will qualify to get SE help. Not there doing though Govt.'s doing. Sadly this will cause I feel a higher drop out rate again. These people will be in a environment that doesn't work for them. .IMac38944.5598842593

The side affects from too much thyroid medication can include:
Abdominal cramps, anxiety, changes in appetite, change in menstrual periods, chest pain, diarrhea, emotional instability, fatigue, fever, flushing, hair loss, headache, heart attack or failure, heat intolerance, hyperactivity, increased heart rate, irregular heartbeat, irritability, muscle weakness, nausea, nervousness, palpitations, shortness of breath, sleeplessness, sweating, tremors, vomiting, weight loss

I see a dr. regulary to keep this in check. A wrongly functioning thyroid can also mimic adhd my Dr. said. If isn't working correctly will effexct the whole body function. I am hypo thyroid. Thyroid problems are on a big rize also. Hypo and hyper are on both sides of my family. 1 side in Bn's family.

I have hypothyroid also, and was under the impression that hyperthyroid was more of a mimicker.  Without my thyroid meds, I have no energy and sleep a lot.  More like depression.

Tylenol and Ibuprofen have side effects, so do alcohol and tobacco.  Most things have a side effect, you just have to look for it.  Even salt.

In any drug on the market there are possible side effects. The thyroid hormone handles the body's metabolism.  Hypothyroidism will give you the inattention and forgetfulness among other things.  My mom and a good friend has hypothyroidism.  I need to be tested.
