Diagnostic Criteria For ADHD

This also can be with asd also. This not the only issue are son has. Sensory issues also have this issue also. Allergies also will effect the body from the inside also. Language issue are not in this criteria which are son has also. He has been getting St since age 1 and still qualifies at 10. I was told to have a mri and ct scan and brain scan by the NP also. No mention of motor skill issues either or balance problems which are son has also. He got ot for a long while also. Helped with that also. See why we don't see his issue just as adhd. oldtimer38916.8479861111.IMac38943.8179166667He has a adhd dx but the other issues he has don't go along with adhd. I figured that all on my own. The np wants to speak with the psychologist also who gave him the adhd dx. She the Np says adhd isn't a qualification for Se either. I was told ohi covers it by Se. This really has me concerned now. Daniel 's dx to me should fit some ware in asd. This could really mess things up for us  as Far as his schooling goes now. Without a se label he will just quit and never learn anything. He doesn't get what mainstream teachers even say. If this happens Homeschooling here we come.

The DSM-IV criteria for Autism Spectrum is not the same as the list IMac gave For ADHD.

ADHD is very often co-morbid with ASD but so are sensory disorders, OCD and any anxiety disorder as well as depression.  A good pdoc will be able to distinguish and dx all that apply.

Oldtimer, notice #5 under impulsivity-

The symptoms do not happen only during the course of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other Psychotic Disorder. The symptoms are not better accounted for by another mental disorder (e.g. Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Dissociative Disorder, or a Personality Disorder).
