Concerta Rx | ADHD Information
I had to acclimate at the different dosing levels for a couple of weeks!!! I was told when I started taking it that I could see a pretty quick result!!! I did not see a great result until I took the 54 mg a week, pretty happy with that dose except it is not lasting 12 hours. It seems to last 7 hours for me and I may up the dose in August. I never felt sleepy on it, only focused and relaxed. My headaches went away and my blood pressure went down on the concerta.
My appetite stabilized after a month!!
Hi everyone, I am new to this board. And since I am, I will give you a brief history. I am 27 years old and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I will be attending law school starting this fall.
The Prescription that I was given was 18mg for the 1st 3 days, then 36 for a couple weeks and then 54 for the rest of the piss.
I started the meds last friday and am on the 36mg dosage. I have noticed that I really have no appetite so I won't eat, but then when I do eat, I can't eat very much. I am not worried about the weight loss, (I have lost 5lbs since friday). What I am concerned with I really can't see a whole lot of improvement. I am tired all day, when I read, I tend to drift off, and I seem to be forgetful. I also still go off on tangents.
She gave me enough meds to be on 54mg a day for 30 days. What would happen if I started the 54 mg right away?
I called her, she said to give it a couple days and see if I acclimate to it. My son is taking Concerta and it works perfect for him. Maybe I just had a bad day.Call your doctor and ask if you should acclimate to the 36mg as instructed or if you can move to the 54mg (basically getting new instructions). My daughter's dr. gives us instructions for backing off or increasing the dose under certain circumstances.
