Straterra side effects ? I do know this is best for him and maybe I just need time.Anyone else go through this? Thanks for listening. ConnieHi Connie, right now Strattera is working wonders for my son, I only pray it stays that way. For the first day my 9 year old son just slept, the next couple of days he had a stomach ache. We are fine now provided he eats enough when he takes it. I totally understand that you are worried the meds are changing him. I have found that they allow my son to be himself. I feel I see the real Conor emerging, because it takes all the kinetic, impulsive & argumentative How much is your son taking? Perhaps you can get it lowered a smidge if you really think that the boy your seeing isn't really him. Also, at 11, they are very intuned to themselves, ask him how he feels. I really wouldn't do anything just yet though, Strattera can take up to 6 weeks before you see the full impact. Thanks csmommy, He's on 40 mg and I ask the poor kid 40 times a day how he feels and he's fine. He's just sooooo quiet!!I'm used to my little chatter box!!I've been reading other peoples posts and I feel truly lucky cause a lot have problems with anger, disruptions and explosions at home,My boy is such a happy kid and other than a click of the tongue and an ugh at having to clean his room he did it.Homework has always gotten done. Our problem was at school where he couldn't finish work and bounced off the walls and took walks around the room during work time.I could deal with him at home although frustrating at times, but the school just kept sending him home.Hence the straterra.I'm waiting for him to come home cause I wrote a note to see how he did today. His teacher's asking him too how he is during the day,so we'll see. Thanks again for listening.......conniew i know how you feel I just started my 12 year old on strattera and he is pretty quite also when he wasnt before the med. also he sleeps alot this is only our fouth day. from what i heard i have to hang in there because it is to early to tell if its is working |
