Legal Abuse in NY schools | ADHD Information

I first read this on the Conduct Disorders site and was APPALLED. Call me silly, but if anything like this was tried on my child, there'd be a HUGE law suit, and I'd call all the newspapers too. And, for good measure, I may just end up cooling my jets in jail as I punched the person who did it right in the mouth. .IMac38944.5570023148SOME SCHOOLS HAVE THIS CODE OF BEHAVIOR THAT THE CHILDREN HAVE TO GO BY (TEACHERS SHOULD TOO.. BUT DON'T), AND NOW THE SCHOOLS ARE TRYING TO DO THIS TO THE KIDS. JUST HOW STUPID ARE THESE PEOPLE?

I appreciate the article however it isn't "great stuff" in my opinion!!! Oldtimer, this article isn't telling how the parent should handle their kid. It is telling the parent how the schools want to handle your kid. Did you even read it? It is horrible!

This is your chance Oldtimer (and others) to not sit and complain but do something about it. If you click on the "Call To Action" link it will tell you exactly how to go about protesting the things you do not agree with which in my case is most ALL! It also tell how to effectively write a letter so no one has the excuse of poor writing skills.

I URGE EVERY PARENT TO PLEASE READ THIS AND DO NOT LET THIS PASS!!!!

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING !  WELL, WHAT'S NEXT?.. THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL THEM TOO?  IF THEY THINK THIS IS OK TO DO TO CHILDREN. I SAY  IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE THAT MISTREAT CHILDREN AS WELL. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, BUT NOW A DAYS HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE WORSE AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE, THAN IT WAS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE  TRY SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

If my son was still in school I would be on the steps of the White House lobbying. If this goes into effect parents need to lobby and boycott schools period. If anyone did this my kid I would be in jail. Parents have all the power. Ban together and dont allow the government to take that power away!   FIGHT PARENTS!

Actually, on June 22, 2006 there was an adoption to PREVENT these sort of things.  I went to the following website - there are public hearings on this. .

The Board of Regents, at their June 2006 meeting, approved the emergency adoption of amendments to the Rules of the Board of Regents and the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, effective June 23, 2006.  These regulations:

Establish general standards for behavioral interventions, including assessments of student behavior, behavioral intervention plans, the use of time out rooms and emergency physical interventions.
