Ive been reading a bunch of books on adhd and parenting from the library. Some are pretty good, some not helpful at all.

Any favorite adhd in kids books? Or even any parenting/discipline books that you have used that have worked?

My son is 5.5 yrs old. Weve been thru the eval process more than once so looking for some good books that maybe are a bit less heavy on the diagnosis part and more focus on the "what do we do now" part.

bump. im currently skimming thru "taking charge of adhd" by barkely. so far its been more helpful than most.

I also recommend 123 Magic by Thomas Phelan. Parents have had great success with this behavior modfication program. Click on the link below:

1-2-3 Magic: Parenting Solutions using Positive Discipline from Dr. Thomas Phelan

I loved "Born to be Wild" (gosh, I hope that's the right name...my sister has it now, so I'll check and correct it later, if need be.)  It really presents a fresh and relaxing POV.

Some books are you read one you read them all I have read through many of them.  The ones I like is "Parenting Children with ADHD 10 lessons that medicine cannot teach" by Vincent J. Monastra, phd

and the other book is "Setting Limits with your strong willed child Eliminating conflict by Establishing Clear, firm, and respectful bounderies " by Robert J. Mackenzie, ED.D

My daughter with her ODD is very strong willed the second book along with our psychologist has done wonders.

A must read is the Explosive Child.  Also Kirk Martin wrote a book called celebrateadhd which certainly makes a parent have hope....
