Terbutaline and ADHD | ADHD Information

I'm interested in the corrolation between terbutaline (also Brethine or albuteral), used Off-label to stop pre-term labor, and ADHD. I didn't need it for my first son (no adhd) but did for my second (adhd). Anecdotal evidence shows a relationship, as does a study by Duke University.  Does anyone have any input about this?Bump for a replyno idea. i was however given terb during my labor with my first son who is adhd.Interesting.... I have no specific info on terbutaline, but am in the middle of investigating the effects of vaccinations.  Many, though purporting to be "mercury free" still use it to make the vaccination and the "trace amounts" included are 125 times the safe amount for a ten lb. infant..... If I run across anything, I'll be sure to post!Might have had it.   Not sure,    what exactly is pre term labor?

My water had broken but was not dialated so they gave me something and now I forgot the name for that.

annor, oftentimes they will give Pitocin in that instance to strengthen contractions.

I am an OB/GYN nurse and also used to work in Labor and delivery.  When I was pregnant for my twins I took terb/brethine routinely to prevent preterm contractions.  One oth the twins has ADHD the other does not.

So.......................I don't know.  I do remeber my mom saying when she was pregnant with my sister they gave her diet pills because she gained too much weight with her first pregnancy (me) and per my mother my sister came out screaming and hasn't stopped since.  This was 1966-my sis is definately ADHD.

That's my input

I was on a t-pump for 7 weeks and my son is ADD. Never took anything but prenatal vitamins for any of my 4 children....2 are ADHD, 2 are not....

I did not take terb with my first son and he is ADHD. I took it with my 2nd son, born 16 months later, and he does not have ADHD and is in fact advanced maturity wise.

okiemom39175.4243402778I am a grandmother with adhd, have 2 of my 3 children with adhd and 3 of my 10 grandchildren with adhd.  I took absolutely no meds when pg, only my dtr took brethane and she is the one without adhd kids!   I think a hereditary or genetic  factor is more to cause than any medication.

I was on terbutaline pump from 12 wks till 32 wks. I think my sons ld is from being on this medication. I can't find any info about this.
