Adderrall xr vs. Ritalin SR | ADHD Information

I have been taking Adderrall XR for 3 years now.  I started on 10mg, and have been on 30mg for almost 2 years now.  My Dr doesn't want to up the dosage, and I don't want him to, but it seems to have lost it's effectiveness!  I take "vacations" from the drug and I don't take it on the weekends, but it has still lost the effectiveness!  My Dr was asking me to try Ritalin SR instead.  I suffer from panic disorder, and once the Adderrall is done, I still get the panic attacks, but I have Xanax for when that happens.  I am just wondering if switching the med is the right thing to do.  Does anyone know what the difference in side effects may be or any other info about my switch?

I am a 27 yr old female, and I work in a daycare, so I can't afford to have major mood swings too!  Man oh MAN I'm confused!  LOL

You might want to try a different DR, I know of many adults that are on much higher doses than 30 Mg.  Another thing to keep in mind is that every time you take a so called holiday over a weekend or longer, when you start back up, your body is back to responding to the meds like it has never seen them before, this makes the initial side effects that will eventually go away come back every time you start back up, that may be part of your side effect problem, just food for thought!
