adderall acting more like antidepressant | ADHD Information
The same thing happened to me. If he's like my psyc he'll raise the dassage
a lot and it still wont do anything and then he'll change the meds.adderall started working how i wanted it when i first started back in january, but now it acts more like an antidepressant and doesn't affect my focus as much, especially when i bowl on league night!i keep telling my psych this and he seems puzzled. but he keeps me on adderall, what do i tell the idiot!!jerbear - have you considered taking "med-holidays"?
this is what Glen has done with great success, three months on (i
think) and then a week off and he hasn't felt the need to increase his
dosage as the meds come back with the same initial strength after the
break as they felt at the beginning of the treatment apparently.
good luck
my psychiatrist for some odd reason doesn't want me to take any med holidays! i have an appointment with him next wednesday so i'll bring it up again.

That you're a bad bowler???

Actually, I would guess that some other variable is affecting your focus. Because of Adderall's various side-effects, it's possible that some behaviors of yours have slowly changed over time.
Tolerance is a possibility as discussed by CHJones, but there are things like changes in diet, sleep, activity, etc. For example when I started Adderall in December the amount I would sleep in an average night has declined very slowly from around 8-9 hrs to 6-7. I also started eating better but I slowly developed this cookie "jones" and as a result found myself ingesting more sugar late in the evening before bed.
I now notice that when I stay off the cookies and get adequate sleep, the benefit from Adderall is significantly better.
