Ritalin SR? Generic Adderall? | ADHD Information

After years of urging by my mom to be tested for ADD/ADHD I finally relented.  I saw the doctor last Thursday and he gave me a script for Adderall XR.  From the little research I had done this seemed like a good fit (the chance of appetite suppression was a nice bonus).  I went to have the script filled, but my insurance denied the script.  I have now been prescribed Ritalin SR.  Was wondering what the consensus is here on the drug.  Also, my brother said there is a generic form of Adderall.  Is this true?  If so, has anyone had any experience with it?
