Boy do I understand the "I told you so, thing". I knew something was just not right with my son, but everybody told me he's just a boy. Too bad his teachers didn't think so. You would have thought that he was evil canevil! School has not been a positive experience, to say the least. We went through months of testing and therapy, when the DX was made. My husband still is not convinced that he has ADHD. Now that is frustrating. I sometimes feel like I'm hitting a brick wall!!!

But of course, my husband doesn't have to deel with the teachers and all of the notes that come home.AHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Best of luck with you and your son. No matter what, kiss and hug him often. Sometimes after a rough day at school, my son still needs a hug from mom to help him feel better. I enjoy that more than anything. Pretty soon, he won't want me to help him.

I have know since my son was 14 monts old that he was special. When he was three I tried to get the family doctor to help. She kept saying we will gage the behavior when he is closer to five. Well things did not get better and since I work in the mental health field I knew I needed to do something. The professional in me finally over ruled the mom part of me. I called and then completed the paperwork. We finally had are evaluation yesterday. My son who turned 5 last week has been diganossed with ADHD. Boy did I feel better. I really wanted to call everyone and say I TOLD YOU SO!!! But I refrained myself and told everyone calmly. Now I just have to wait til Thursday so that we can get out Family Doctor to prescribe a medication. Because I have been using behavioral interventions for 2 years and they get us up the hill but not over the hill. Sounds like you have things pretty much in order.  Good luck with the meds and remember if the first one you try does not work or has bad side effects there are lots of others to try...We tried several before we found the one that works best for my son.
