Adderall & Mood SwingsBoth of my kids take adderall xr, and I do not see any more whining or tantrums than normal. It works good for us, but every child is different, keep a good record and talk to you doc about it. It depends on your insurance if you can get an rx for 3 mth. It saves a lot if money for us, I'm diabetic and also add. For my meds, including the straterra I'm taking, I get a 3 mth supply with 3 refills, so I need only one rx a year. For the kids adderall I need a rx every 3 mth, and I have to mark it on my calender to do that, or I would forget.
we do the mail in too. i'm also diabetic. kind of off topic, i have to ask you if you have pancreatitis or have you ever had an acute attack of pancreatitis? I have been chronic for 4 years now. I was reading that Dr's can inject the pancreas with stem cells and they will create new pancreatic cells and can and DO cure diabetes!!! It's still being tested but they can do it! there is hope for diabetics. I hope they can do this to cure my pancreatitis, but that is not going to happen in my life time (i don't have a lot of time left and the studies are just for diabetes right now my son had a hard time adderall xr he had mood swings and was whiney alot and didn't even want you to look at him sometimes the longer it took the worser he got he was taken off immediately until looked at by a behavior peditrician good luck and keep observantThe same thing happened with my son. He was on it for about 3 weeks and we took him off it and put him back on ritalin. He would spend hours crying hysterically over nothing and fly of the handle at the littlest thing. He was also scared of his own shadow to the point the he wouldn't go to the bathroom by himself(he was 9) and slept outside my bedroom door till i noticed him and this went on for atleast 6 months and we were still seeing some of these effect up to 1 year later. After my experience with Addrell I would suggest you talk to your doctor and see if there is something is something better. I do know it works great for some but doesn't hurt to check it out.

What is it? Do you have to inject insulin? Some doctors require med visits monthly, while others do not. I visit mine biannually (twice/year). I also use mail-order pharmacy (3 months worth of meds) for convenience and to save money. Once you get well-established on a med, if you have the option of mail-order, I would highly recommend it. The only downside I have is remembering to send the rx to be filled before I run out of meds.
Ohh and your Dr. probably told you, but fruit juices decrease the absorption of adderall too. (Especially orange juice I was told)
