 Yes he has been seen by a child psychiatrist, he defo has severe ADHD but he also has other probs like learning speech ect he is dyslexic yes i think his been on the med's to lng so maybe he needs smething else now as he is on a high dose alrdy of the concerta 54mg so i prob have 2 find smething else 4 him

 yes he has an IEP he has been assessed  for his problems and he has nero developmental cluster of problems that effect his expressive language which is vry imature for his age on his speech and language he remains below average he is having help at school with one 2 one but i just feel this is not enough as he will be starting high school before i know it and i just dnt want evry1 2 be horrible 2 him and bully him because of his disabillity as he obviously cant help it so i want 2 help him the best i can

 

leigh138938.2982291667Hi and welcome.  He has been on the same med and dosage since he was 6?  It may be time for your pediatrician to re-evaluate his meds if you don't think they are working any more.  He will be better able to learn if he has the right med combo.  Good luck and keep us posted.

I wouldn't use a pediatrician to evaluate your son. I agree he should probably be re-evaluated for meds, but also to see if more is going on than just ADHD. Since he's already a teen, and suffering due to his problems, you may want to have him tested by a Neuropsych to see if more is going on than ADHD. He has symptoms of other disorders that are often mistaken for ADHD, especially early on, and, if he has them, it is good he get interventions and help before he graduates. NeuroPsychs can be found at university hospitals and test in all areas and for all disorders. I doubt meds will solve all his problems. Has he ever SEEN a Neuropsych or a Child Psychiatrist? I wish you lots of luck. You may want to take this online assessment test to see if you son fits in here:

MomWI38938.3564467593Can you get him an assessment from a NeuroPsych out of school? That way you can pinpoint his specific LD's and present them to the SD.
