add and ocd | ADHD Information

I have a 13 year old son with add who has recently become anxious about things.  He may worry about something happening if he doesn't do something particular.  He has been taking strattera for years and has recently started growth hormones. His doctor said these are called dark thoughts. Could this be from the strattera or could he be developing some obsessive compulsive traitsSounds like Anxiety as well and as  for is it the meds check with your doctor. The part about doing things, or something bad might happen, that IS a trait of OCD.  OCD can often kick in around the time of puberty too.  Does he have rituals that he does, so that "bad things" don't happen?

calicorose38938.7233796296Welcome.  Any antidepressant (like Strattera) can cause a paradoxical reaction like increased anxiety with OCD tendancies.  If your son is not already seeing a child psychiatrist, I'd strongly recommend finding one who can evaluate your son's symptoms and take a good hard look at the meds.  His symptoms warrant this kind of care.  Good luck.
