Hello people.... I've been reading the forums for some time now and decided to join and make a post. I'm 30 and have been on and off meds for the last 25 years. I can't believe how open people can be in here. And that's a good thing in my opinion. I'm back on meds after a 6 year break. My ADHD had, up until April of this year, benefited me. (as far as careers go) I was doing UNIX and network admin and was never confined to a desk. Now I am, supposed to be a move up. When I started it was more like torture. I like the job, don't get me wrong, I just couldn't sit still and do one task at a time. Everything is kosher now though. I forgot how well I "behaved" on meds. lol.... just a joke. For those of us that grew up in the 80's that was a common phrase.
In any event, I'm married. Have been for 10 years. We met while in the Army stationed at Ft. Meade. Don't ask me how we've lasted this long. From some of the stories i've read up here i'm lucky. My wife must be the greatest person in the world. For me that is. We have two children. My son is 8 and our daughter is 3 months. So it's pretty busy around the house. I probably couldn't have picked a better time to go back on meds. My classes start back in fall. (like 2 weeks) I'm actually looking forward to them for the first time since I went back 2 years ago.
I look forward to talking with you guys/gals.
