Tablet PC - anyone ever used one?

Hi,

While searching for that miracle machine that would clean up all of my mess I came across the idea of getting a tablet PC like the Thinkpad x41, has anyone aver used one?  I am also researching voice recongition programs that work with Windows and Dragon's Naturally Speaking seems a good option to me, but again how does the reality look like?

Then again you might say, start on your meds and your life will change...but I am still trusting my food supplements will help me.

sunmiguel38941.5511921296whats that?I realize this is a response to an old message, but...Yes, I have used a tablet pc without voice recognition software.  It was great for me because I could sit on the couch and work on dull stuff like entering grades while distracting myself with something else more interesting (e.g., get through a boring task pre-meds by engaging my mind with something more interesting, like a movie).

THis helped me schedule my time better and get more tasks done during the day.  I could do all the stuff that requires active thought during the day at work and then save the dull stuff for at home during the evening hours, when I'm no longer quite as sharp from tiredness, stress of the day, etc.

My hubby left behind when he moved, though, and I really miss our tablet pc:)

Thanks for sharing your experience, I ordered a refurbished model at a great price but unfortunately they were out of stock, so I got a palm pc instead.

A tablet pc is a notebook computer that lets you write on the screen. I thought it could be great for avoiding paper mess, cause I like to scribble things down fast sometimes like entering appointments and tasks into outlook or jotting down a phone number without having to type and move the mouse etc...

I am sure the text recognition works better than the one on palm pcs but then again they're quite big to carry around all the time.

oh yeah. i used to have one of those things but i broke it.
