Watching your child play with others | ADHD Information

Have you ever sat back and watched your ADHD child play with other kids? I did today and it was rather interesting. We were at the wading pool and Brandon was playing with a 2 boys and 2 girls. He was in charge of the game and made up the rules. Basically Brandon just sat back and watched 3 of the kids chase another one. He called himself the star of the game. The other kids let him be the star and change the rules for awhile. Eventually one of the the boys wanted to be the star. Brandon gave him a turn.  The girls were quite content to play. I think Brandon would make a good boss!

That's a sweet Sunday afternoon story!  Thanks for sharing.

This summer my son was a CIT (counselor in training) at the Y day camp.  He was the oldest "camper" there.  He's always been good with the younger ones, very patient  and has a lot of  fun with them.   Sometimes, I would sneek in before he could see me, and watch him playing dodgeball with the younger ones.  It was cool.  I don't say much about him being so good with them, because I don't want to ruin a good thing.    But I do love to sit back and just watch like you do.
