Adderall XR | ADHD Information
From my experience: my daughter had just turned 6 a few months before she was dx'ed. They started her on 5mg of adderall. Today, over 6 months later they have raised it by 5 several times, until she is currently on a dose of 20 mg. If you are concerned, talk to your dr.
My doctor prescribes two 30mg tabs a day of the Adderall XR. One was just not enough. Is he prescribing too much? If not, what is the maximum dosage of the XR?

I take two 90mg doses of IR (90mg IR equivilent to 180 XR) daily. Officially XR has only been tested up to a 60mg dose, but the reality is that a benefit is dose dependant. What's important is that you're working closely with your doctor and that you're being consistent with your meds.

I've read about various maximum doses, 50mg being the lowest of these,
but the 60 you're taking is still well below the highest I've seen. As
long as the amount you take is helping your ADHD and not causing any
unbearable side effects, it's not too much. The idea is to put you on
the lowest effective dose possible, so if you're really uncomfortable
at the thought of taking 60, see if he can give you smaller pills so
that you can play with your dose and see if 40-55mg works better, or
something.
it depends upon the person for how much is right. I have been prescribed
well over 60mg of adderall so i doubt that its too much, but meds affect
different people differently.Depending on your weight, that could be the maximum dosage able to be perscribed. My doctor told me that 60 mg was as high as he could go and that he couldn't legally give me anymore than that.
