Can anyone tell me about their experience with this medication? DD is currently taking 20 mg of adderall in the am, 7.5 mg of abilify after school, and the np gave me a box of samples of this for when she has meltdowns.

Zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic in the same family as Abilify. It is used to calm anger and aggression. It is fast-acting, which I'm guessing is why your doc gave it for meltdowns.
Did the meltdowns worsen when your DD started Adderall? Adderall is notorious for making kids moody and aggressive.
My 8-year-old daughter is taking 5 mg Zyprexa for anxiety, but it's not really working. We're considering trying her on an SSRI like Zoloft or Prozac.
