Welcome to the board! I have a few questions:
1). Do you take weekends off with adderall and find the tolerance that can develop is not as quick with the weekend "holiday"
2). Side effect wise: Do you experience major crashs after the half life (im assuming regular adderall IR 4 hour) or is it more of just "i'm feeling tired maybe i'll take a nap
3). Are we talking Adderall IR (the first with a 4 hour half life) or the Adderall XR (extended half life that lasts around 6-8 hours), and if you used both, can you comment on the diffrences if any while on the 2?
4). Did you run into a problem having adderall prescribed after diagnosis as in : you requested it, or did you doctor tell you to go on that. I'm in a bit of a possible bind myself, as my doctor saw me 4 appointments, believes I have add, but is telling me "perhaps you should just deal with it as best you can as using stimulants could lead to bad side effects" all the while I'm telling him that I have had good experience with Ephedrine/caffeine which is actually a mild amphetamine derivative. He's a very conservative/cautious type doctor and it's getting abit awkward as in i've already given him my opinion on what I want to try.
Thanks for sharing looking forward to your response
P.S In regards to your concern on the heart, ephedrine studies have showed that cardiac remodeling has occured with prolonged use, and although I havent come across any on amphetamines it's very likely it can / would occur over time, however to what degree is anyone's guess.
Deltaforce38945.4400925926I don't know anything about this drug, I take Concerta.
I also worry about the health side effects of Concerta, but get tests that show everything is okay so far!!!
You have to wiegh the benefits I guess and see how severe your adhd symptoms are without medication to make a decision. I worry about how to deal with hyper adhd without medications?? I have seen how I am when I rebound in the evenings!!
Have u considered going off the meds to see what the difference would be now?
