what I want is the self contained he's happy in. I will not allow him to return to the old school. Mainstream work is to hard he doesn't get it at all. Here's his troubles maybe you can help out. He has capd/lpd and Ld in reading. Se at our old school was help very little at all. I want to know of child's correct dx. They claim it's just adhd I say bull! He has sensory issues also. I asked for this current setting and that is where I want him to stay. I disagree with there way I tried it 4 yrs. little progress was made. Principal and the testing lady says 50/50 doesn't qualify for. Both are public schools. I believe if needs SE help mostly why not stay where he is. This class was suppose to help fill his gaps with less kids and more help. In a regular Se class/regular class he is isilated they make him work alone in the room. I transfered him not them!

I'm not sure just what you mean. Who believes that 50% SE and 50% regular ed is the way to go?

Your child has a right to a Free and Appropriate Education that is right for your child. If the school just pushes each child into a 50/50 education, then your child won't be getting FAPE. Insist on an IEP that is geared toward what your child needs.

If the school you are talking about is a public school and you live in that school district, they have to comply. You may be better off talking to a special ed advocate before you get more testing. The advocate can help you determine whether you have the right testing to push for an appropriate IEP or not. If youy do, an advocate can go into a meeting with you and help you. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Will pay for more testing. They believe that 50 % SE for gaps help and 50% regular education. I will home school if they try and return my kid to his past school. No way I told him will our son go back to his old school. They claim in 4 days his new placement is not the right place for him. He feels this would be the better placement. Home schooling here we may come.I said I want him right where he is at. I think this guy has the right thing for all kids. He doesn't believe in labels at all. He said a kid should get a program that fits that childs needs. I'm confused. What do you mean?Do you have the transfer in writing in an IEP?  Are they saying he's too advanced for the self-contained classroom?  Have you talked to the teacher of this class since your son's placement to find out how the teacher feels and why?
