Confused | ADHD Information

i have talked to my sons teachers and they say he is very shy and only talks when spoken to. he behaves and is usually one of thier favorite students. i notice if we are in a store he will act up more but we are visiting someone he will try to control himself. at his mom mom's house he is the worst . maybe just a ploy for attention? i don't know anymore. his doctor says that nothing can be done until he is seven but when he was five nothing could be done until he six. i just want to understand him so i can help him. anyway, we had a apppointment for a counciler and he wouldn't talk at all he just tried to hide behind me the whole time.  i have video taped him throwing a tantrum and hitting his brother and he thought it was funny.

I heard about natural treatment but i am not sure about it, i have tried to research it but i find info on everything but. Could some one let me know of a site orsomething.
Hi and welcome.  It is kind of hard to answer your post as it is rather vague.  He behaves in school but not at home?  Maybe you could look into a discipline system such as 1-2-3 Magic.  That is a good, practical standby.  It works pretty well.  You could look on the alternative treatments board here for info on natural treatments.  On what you are treating, you didn't specify.Has your child been screened?  It sounds like behavior instead of ADHD a friend of ours had their son tested due to behavors and what worked for their son was change in diet dairy made him mean and wild and he only acted up at home not at school.  Good luck
