Ditto ladym, also, if you are still on good terms with his previous teacher, you might also request that they provide a list, not on an official basis, but a personal favor kind of thing.
Best of luck!
graciepoints38946.8490509259Well, I've taken the first step toward diagnosis. We have an appointment in a week and a half. It's before school starts so at least we can get the process started for the adhd assessment. Does anyone have any suggestions for me of what things to bring up at the appointment.
You have no idea how good it feels to know that I'm not totally alone in this. Well, maybe you do realize it. LOL Reading through your stories has made me think that some of you live in my house. It's nice to have somewhere to go and have people to communicate with that truly understand what I'm going through.
This one is with Catholic Community Services. It's for a mental health evaluation. From there, we will go to a Child Psychiatrist.I think the best thing to do is just make a list of symptoms that he displays that concern you. Just a simple list format, no examples. Give it to the doctor when you get there, and then you can go over it. List EVERYTHING that concerns you, even if you aren't sure it's relevant. This way you don't forget anything, and the evaluator can get a more clear picture of your child. I say don't give examples though because if it's to in depth, it likely won't get read. If they want examples, they will ask :).
Good luck!
What kind of doctor is the appointment with?
