My son has not been diagnosed yet. | ADHD Information
My son is 5 1/2 and will be starting kindergarten next month. Over the past year everything has been getting worse. He talks non stop and when confronted with it he says that he can't stop talking. I thought that he may just need a little bit of discipline, so I enrolled him in Karate. After three classes, the instructor already had to talk to us about his excessive talking. During his Kindergarten screening, the teacher told us that she had a really hard time doing the test because he wouldn't stop talking, asking questions and he wasn't really paying attention. What do I do??? I have already talked to his doctor who has said that they want us to fill out some paperwork and his teachers. But does this sound like ADHD at all or am I just being to picky of my kid????Help!!!Well we'd only be guessing. Anyone here will advise you to have a thorough testing done by a neuro-psychologist. It wouldn't hurt - even if it came up clean.
You might read the following article and see if you see your son in the symptoms. Is the "paperwork" that the doctor wanted you and the teachers to fill out a Connor's questionairre by any chance? What kind of doctor does your son see (is this a pediatrician or a child psychiatrist)? Diagnosis is best made by a child psychiatrist or neuropsychologist.
